0:00:00 Hey, don’t miss the next podcast of More Faith, More Life. Are you walking in baby grace and baby favor? I want you to grow up and start walking in the presence of God. Hello everyone, and welcome to another more faith, more Life podcast. We’re talking about the mandate of honor part three today of how you can begin to honor God. And it will change your life, change your family, get your kids doing this with you. It could be a family project of how can we find out, how can we honor God? And what happens is the more you honor God and the more the church shifts its focus off of the people and onto God.
0:00:34 And I know it’s hard for people because most people believe that the gospel is about us and helping the poor souls and helping people get to heaven and helping people not hurt so much. And on and on it goes. And so we never really get around to God. Just flip it around. The first thing God told Israel, as he’s pulling them to himself, is love me with all your heart. First thing he says, and if we learn to love God, and you don’t love God because you feel love for God, you love God because he deserves your love and you just love. And the more you do it to honor him and love him, the more you will feel it. Even though whether you feel it or not, you want to honor God, right?
0:01:13 When that music starts, you honor God, do it. We learned last podcast, one of the best. Best words is best. I find very few people know how to give their best to anything, but very seldom, whether they’re pastors, leaders, board members, choir directors, worship leaders, deacons, Sunday school teachers, pew warmers. You know, few people go to church and give their best few, especially if they’re not on up in front.
0:01:43 Sometimes somebody will sing a song, the best they can sing it, but then they’ll go sit down and doze off during the sermon. Well, that’s not your best, then you only gave your best for yourself. All right. Yeah. So we want to talk about it’s time to move with God. Time to move with God, the mandate of honor. We need to move forward with God, and we got to discipline ourselves in that. And just like Moses said, you know, Moses is talking to God, what a great thing they have in your life. Wow.
0:02:11 He’s talking to God and he tells God, look, if you don’t go with us, I’m not going. You know, they’re heading towards the promised land, he’s leading the people and he just shuts it down, says, if you don’t go with us, God got upset with the people and he kind of said, like, I’ll send an angel or somebody else, I’m not going. And Moses said, no, if you’re not going, I’m not going. I’m not going to carry on a church service, whether I be a leader or just, you know, a giver. I’m a tither, whatever.
0:02:39 I’m an attender, you know, but I’m not going to go on, as people call it, playing church. I don’t like that term, but I guess we understand what it means. But I’m not going to go on with this, especially if you’re a leader. But if you have influence on leaders at your church or you’re a youth leader or whatever, you know, I’m not going to go have another youth meeting just to have a youth meeting so we can have fun, giggle, eat snacks and go home, sing a couple of worship songs. Go home.
0:03:08 No, you know, we have to say this, look, until the presence of God starts showing up in our services, and it’s really, really strange, isn’t it, that people would start yelling in a service, God’s in the house. God’s in the house. And people kind of cheering and doing it during the music. But when they sit down and do sermons and live a lifestyle, like we’re kind of telling people, God’s here in this room, but nothing’s happening that shows God’s in the room. Like it’s not affecting me.
0:03:40 I cheer and I’m being happy, kind of like I do at the baseball game or the football game or whatever game, but it makes me happy and I’m happy to do it, happy to be on board. But I don’t know how we can say the God of the universe is in this room and that’s it. Blank stares, blank faces. Something’s wrong. And so it’s finally when we say, look, we may have the grace home groups, bus ministry, outreach, helping the poor, but unless God’s presence starts coming into our services, that we know, and it’s tangible, you can feel it, people change.
0:04:22 It changes lives. It melts the hard hearts, right? Just coming in and being inspired and going home and shaking hands with our friends and then meeting during the week for spaghetti supper and then a talk session. Come on. So he didn’t do it. Now what happens is, here’s what’s happening. We are getting by with these attitudes of not giving our best to God, of not honoring God, of keeping the services all about us and all about our hurts. We know how that is.
0:04:57 We’re going to try to make you get through the week and tell you a few hints that will help you get through your marriage. But this is not the 1 second in the presence of God will change everything. And if you can do it with your kids and husband and wife, they’ll be changed, too. You keep doing it and you become a different person. And all the things that you really would like to not have happened or still aching inside of you, you can break the power of those off of you.
0:05:27 Well, because we don’t know what church is about. We don’t know how to honor God. We don’t give our best to God. I don’t think you’re going to find very many people that really do when it comes time for the worship. Wow. When it’s time for the offering, take this. You know, this is the best I can do. You still have to pay your bills, take care of the kids, everybody’s got to eat. But then there’s still the best.
0:05:50 And that’s where people falter. Now, when you don’t give your best and you don’t do this to really put God in the center, you still want to go hear a sermon all about your hurts, what you say. Here’s a phrase I want to coin for you. I haven’t used it so long, I don’t even hardly remember, but I’m going to start using it. What it does is it keeps you in what I want to call baby Grace or baby favor. We all know we’re saved by grace and. But you can increase in grace. Well, most people don’t know how to, but they don’t even know you can. Because most people think Grace is that part that covers up from my weaknesses and covers up for me so that I get to stay in the kingdom, even though I’m not giving my best, even though I’ve got some things that nobody knows about me, even though I got some bad attitudes, even though my thoughts go here or there, and it’s not really very.
0:06:42 I’m not being spiritual. I’m not walking in the pace and peace and patience and kindness and love of God. I know all those things about me. Well, when you stay in that realm and you think, well, Grace is just to help me not lose what we got, well, then you lose the understanding. Grace is favor that empowers your life. All right? But most people don’t know it because they stay in baby favor. Now, baby favor, this is my definition. Baby Grace, baby favorite. It covers a lot.
0:07:12 And you’ll even have people who are in it tell stories. Like, they’ll start like, you know, when I first became a believer ten years ago. And God. And they’ll tell all the big. Some big stuff, big stuff God did for you and for the people in your family around. And then you kind of hit a low and it just kind of rode along, kept going, going, and then maybe hit a thing where you. And then I got this breakthrough. I got a healing or got a new job and that. Until you found another thing. But. But what happens is that’s baby favor. That’s baby grace.
0:07:43 That just out of God’s love and a special favor from God, you get some boosts. And you didn’t really participate in the favor. You didn’t participate in grace. And that grace is honoring God. That’s our side. We honor God because he’s given us unmerited favor. And so we give him merited favor. We give him merited favor, grace. I mean, blessings and honor and glory. We establish truth, we say great things about God, and we give him our strength, our heart, our strength, and we give him our best.
0:08:20 And that’s what we do. As someone who’s been granted grace. And then we get greater grace. And greater grace now is the power and the ability to do things you couldn’t do before or get this. You get to do stuff that you don’t deserve to do, but you still get to do it. Cause favor is on your life. Well, that’s when you start stepping out now and you’re mature and you want to make your life all about God. It’s all about Jesus now, right? Not about me.
0:08:48 It’s the gospel about Jesus Christ. I don’t want to go to a church service that focuses on my past and focuses on my hurts and tells me how to get through another week. I don’t need to do that. I’ll get through the week by focusing on him and his great power. And I’m going to say, I’m going to get your presence. I’m not going with my hurts. I’m not going with my pain. I’m not going with my prejudices.
0:09:09 I’m not going with those offenses. I’m going with your presence. When you do that, your whole world changes. And we can change the world, right? Right now the church is pretty ineffective. We say everything right, but the effect we’re having, I mean, who’s having a greater effect on society right now and culture and education and politics? Is it the church? Are you kidding me? Not no influence at all.
0:09:32 It’s all other groups, outside groups, their own groups, political groups, terrorist groups, whatever groups. And so we need to get back and pursue God with all our heart. Seek the Lord. Give him your best. When you pray. Best prayer you can do if you’re at home or you’re driving in the car, you know, and you’re going to sing along with the radio or something, some worship song, give it your best. Because when we honor God. Listen, when we honor God, we’re starting to go into the mature factor.
0:10:02 When we have baby grace, it’s like, we don’t know. It’s like just growing up with your parents. I remember when my daughter Bobbie told me she got married and they paying her own bills and stuff like that. And she told me, you know what? It was a lot easier being a kid at home, having everything paid for than having to have responsibility. So a lot of people, they stay in baby grace with God. You know, they’re not going to get too far off. If they get into trouble, they’re going to cry out to God and God’s going to help them.
0:10:28 But we’re not walking in the level that we can walk. And when we honor God and give him our best. Cause giving our best does honor God. Laziness doesn’t honor God. Right? No wandering, playing on our phones during church and things like that. Spending all the money on. So we make sure we get. Everybody gets all the pizza they want, but we have nothing in the offering. Come on, give your best to God first.
0:10:53 Seek the kingdom of God first. But what happens is he grants you status and influence. Now, listen, you may not gather status in the community. You might not become a movie star. You might not become a famous person. You may not even get to be a hotshot in the church making decisions. But what you will get for sure is you will gain status and influence in the spirit world so that when you talk to God, he hears and action happens. You’re on a mature level of grace in that you’re not overlooking what the favor that God has done for you.
0:11:30 And you’re going to walk into that every day. And then now you’re going to become more influential in the kingdom of God. But you become more powerful and influential in the kingdom of darkness. And you can knock that out, and he will. The devil will flee from you, right? Submit yourself to God. How do you get the devil to flee? Submit yourself to God. You can’t just go, devil, flee. I command you to flee. I’ve heard people pray that. Devil, I command you to flee like a. Well, he just. Why would he flee?
0:11:59 It’s submission. That frightens him. Submission to God. Cause he ain’t got none. You do that and you’ll get out of baby grace. Are you tired of baby grace? You want to get into the real hot thing? Say, I’m going with the favor of God. I’m not going anywhere till God goes with me. I’m going to get God’s presence before I go to church and I’m going to take it in that building and then I’m going to give it my best.
0:12:22 I don’t care what anybody else thinks and you’re not going to be. Don’t. Don’t cause a ruckus. Best is wise. Best knows wisdom. But best is easily to spot best, right? We traveled all over the world, you know, and we’ve taken groups from our church all over the world to big, biggest. There’s a couple of thousand people there and there’s a little group of 20 people from our church maybe there, you know, look over those whole 2000 people.
0:12:53 You can spot people from our, you can spot people from our church. You know why? They’re the only people in the place that are doing their best. High energy prayers, high energy praise, high energy arms jumping up and down when appropriate, right? So when you give your best now you’re going to get out of baby grace, right? Baby grace, out of baby favor and you’re going to walk in the favor of God because God is the leader, the master of your life, the one you’re yielding to and submitting to.
0:13:26 What he does is now as his client, he begins to raise you up with him and your stature goes up as you raise God. You magnify God. Then you start moving with God. Now you can go with God. Now you can toxic goddess. I’m not going anywhere to go together. And you know what? God agreed. God finally said, all right, I’ll go with you. All right, I’ll go with you. You can do that too. And it’s be life changing forever.
0:13:54 If you want to, if you want to grow in God and get out of baby grace and get into the master, the walk with the master in greater grace. He gives greater grace to the humble. The Bible says greater grace. So there is a label, a level of grace that will bring you influence and stature in the kingdom of God first. And that’s what you want. Well, I hope you’ll go to the website, morefaithmorelife.com If you don’t have the book, I should say booklet. It’s still free.
0:14:23 If You Only Knew: A Guide To The Clueless Generation. You should get that it’s going around to some big names in the country. But will they do anything about it? I don’t know. I don’t know. But it’s truth. And get it for free or buy it. You might want to get My Absurd Religion if you don’t, because that’ll turn it on.
